Garmin recently launched a new smartwatch for kids called Garmin Bounce. The main highlights of this new smartwatch are its built-in GPS and 4G LTE connectivity, along with the Garmin Jr. individually designed.
Parents can actively track their child's location using the built-in GPS, communicating with them via text and voice messages. The smartwatch is parent-controlled using the Garmin Jr. app, which requires an active Garmin Connect account. The monthly subscription fee for LTE features costs 10 USD.
GPS also allows for activity tracking, and Garmin also has a reward system for achieving various daily activity goals by launching a collection of gems.
Garmin Bounce also features games and quizzes that can be played during parent-approved times. To reduce distractions, parents can also choose to turn off gadgets during school hours or at night. This does not affect Bounce's ability to count steps and track sleep.
In terms of hardware, the Garmin Bounce smartwatch model has a durable plastic body, a silicone watch band, and a 1.3-inch color LCD screen with a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels. With default settings, battery life is rated to last up to two days on a single charge. The watch can track swimming sessions and has a 5 ATM water resistance certification.
The Garmin Bounce smartwatch comes in black, green, and purple color options, with a selling price of $150 (about VND 3.72 million).
