iPhone 15 will take better low-light photos thanks to this improvement

Over the past several weeks, we have been seeing quite a few leaks about the iPhone 15 series, which is expected to launch in the fall of next year.

Recently, a report from Nikkei Asia has revealed information that the iPhone 15 will be able to take better low-light photos thanks to the use of Sony's new camera sensor.

According to the source, the iPhone 15 models will feature Sony's "state of the art" image sensor, with a saturation signal at each pixel that's twice that of current camera sensors. This will help the new sensor capture more light, thereby helping users get better quality low-light photos.

And yet, the new sensor is said to have a higher dynamic range than the camera on current iPhone models . It will even allow users to shoot backlit and still capture a lot of detail in the dark areas.

The new semiconductor architecture that Sony uses in the new sensor will allow for more photodiodes and transistors to be separated into different layers. In case you didn't know, more photodiodes means more light and better image processing. However, it is currently unknown whether this new sensor technology will appear on the entire iPhone 15 series or will be an exclusive feature on the higher-end iPhone 15 Pro models.

In addition to being equipped with a better camera sensor, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is also expected to own a new periscope lens, which helps bring about 5x or even 10x optical zoom. Moreover, these new high-end iPhone models are also rumored to use USB-C ports, A17 chip, more RAM, Dynamic Island and 120Hz ProMotion screen.
