Spotify recently partnered with easyJet to launch a new campaign called "Listen & Book", which gives travelers the chance to receive personalized travel recommendations based on their mood and the music they listen to.
"Listen & Book" leverages Spotify's artificial intelligence to make it possible for people to discover their holiday personality based on their listening habits. easyJet will then recommend a tailored travel experience across Europe based on the user's listening habits. The aim of the campaign is to give travelers an extra unique way of planning their trip.
For users who like to listen to soft, warm and dreamy music, they can spend their next vacation strolling through the botanical gardens of Lisbon (Portugal), soaking in the Helsinki hot tub. or admire Iceland's Northern Lights. Through artificial intelligence algorithms, holiday style is determined through musical attributes such as song positivity, energy, and tempo.
Once users have defined their style and discovered their tailored destinations and travel experiences, they can share their results on social media, book flights with easyJet or listen to personalized playlists on Spotify.
The experience also offers recommendations for nearby music venues in their respective destinations, so they can take in performances or connect with the local music culture when they visit.
The campaign demonstrates that music can be a door to new experiences for people, a way to embrace local cultures and a powerful vehicle for creating memories.
With 433 million monthly active Spotify listeners globally and nearly 1,000 easyJet routes to more than 150 airports across 35 countries, there's no shortage of user experience. Plus, recent research shows that 37% of people see new experiences and adventures as their top motivators to travel.
