Accordingly, Twitter account Andrew O'Hara has posted some pretty clear CAD design photos of this product. Although there is still no information that guarantees authenticity, the above designs are consistent with previous rumors about the next AirPods Pro charging case.
Notably, the new charging case is expected to support Find My (Apple's device finder feature), allowing users to track the case's location in the Find My app in case it gets lost, even when the headset is not placed in the carrying case.
Earlier this year, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the charging case will be able to emit a sound when lost, which explains Apple's act of adding speaker holes. The leaked images also show a microphone hole.
It's possible that the microphone on the new AirPods charging case could be used for Apple's Live Listen accessibility feature, which helps users still hear conversations in noisy areas or in a large space.
The above feature works according to the charging box mechanism that will record and play back through the user's headset, making the conversation sound clearer and more convenient.
Finally, the leaked images also show a cutout on the right side of the case that is likely for a lanyard attachment. This feature will make it easy to attach the AirPods Pro case to the keychain without additional accessories.
In general, information that AirPods Pro will use the Lightning or USB-C charging port is still unclear. but rumors suggest that Apple will still use the Lightning port this year and switch to USB-C with the new generation of iPhones next year.
AirPods Pro now also support MagSafe wireless charging since receiving a minor revision in October 2021.
It is also possible that the new AirPods Pro charging case will have IPX4 water and sweat resistance, an upgrade over the current generation that only has water resistance for the earphones.
