Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is about to be released with many expected upgrades

 

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 was disappointing, that could be due to Samsung 's 4 nm manufacturing process . Qualcomm is currently working on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 to power flagships.

Qualcomm can shake things up with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Instead of sticking with a single-core, mid-core, and low-power four-core setup, the chipmaker could go with a configuration with a single Cortex core. -X3, two Cortex-A720 cores, two A710 cores and three A510 cores.

It has been hypothesized that this may not be the best approach from a performance standpoint but it will help the next generation of Android phones to support older apps.

However, a new tweet from leaker Ice Universe has proven that theory wrong. According to leaked sources, Qualcomm is hard at work on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and this is a very impressive chip with great performance.

Ice Universe also says that Android vendors are already gearing up for new chip phones, and it's possible we'll see the first smartphone with Qualcomm's next flagship chip in November.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 was announced on November 29, 2022. The first phone supported by this processor was only released at the end of December in China. 

A recent report revealed that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 was announced during a November event that ran from November 15 to 17.

Apple's A Bionic chip and Google's Tensor chip both don't use the usual cluster layout, and the phone powered by them is one of the best today. Even Samsung is said to be considering a new approach.
